🌑 RESET: Here’s What Happened

• Earlier this year, we signalled to the SheEO community that we were ready to change the name of our organization.
• We put three name options to a community vote, which led to inconclusive results and a desire to “take it back to the drawing board”
• Co-creating with our community and meaningfully engaging you during this major decision in our organization’s evolution is core to our Values, Protocols + Practices.
• Last month, a group of 20-30 community members raised their hands to join us on the next phase of this journey.
• Over the last 8 weeks, we gathered and generated ideas, initially with an aim of producing 3-5 new names and concepts that the community could reflect on and ultimately select.
• For the next 4 weeks, we will reveal a different element of our new brand + name here:

🌕 REVEAL: Phases of Our Journey

<aside> ➿ A name is only one aspect of a strong brand identity and experience. As the moon shows different parts of its face in the lunar cycle, we will slowly reveal all of the phases of SheEO’s new brand and evolution in a weekly rhythm leading up to a full reveal by the June full moon.

🌒 Phase 1: Colour + Core

WHEN? Week of May 23 - 28

THE BIG PICTURE How might we transform systems and signal the big picture of a new way?

REVEAL

• This week’s reveal is called colour + core because we are sharing what will remain core throughout our brand transformation
• The colour teal + purple will continue on in the evolution of our new brand
• Similarly, we have been hearing many questions about why we are changing our name to begin with and if that means we are moving away from the core of what we do here. We are expanding beyond the initial concepts that we started with, but the relationship between Activators + Ventures and our unique funding model will remain core to this community.

RADICAL GENEROSITY + THE COLLECTIVE How might we express radical generosity and the power of the collective?

• Before we started to think about specific names, we wanted to talk about anything but names!

• This week’s reveal is called shapes + space because we see this community + organization as the holding space for our collective trust + transformation

• This led us to rethink some of the visual identity we have been currently using and moving towards organic shapes and forms that have dynamism + flow; much of our inspiration came from nature

CONTINUITY OF ENERGY How might we energize creativity, inspire future generations, and encourage continued engagement?

REVEAL

We are in a liminal space of growth and transformation. This week especially, we honour the name SheEO. We're finally ready to share the new name for our collective. Over the next weeks and months, you’ll witness this evolution in real time as our new name and visuals roll out across emails, our website, and our social media.

Lately, I've been reflecting about biomimicry and the flow of our journey.

As life imitates nature, this has been a central theme in our evolution and will come full circle to form part of our new name and narrative.
